The New York Giants winning the Super Bowl was the worst thing that could ever happen to Nevada sports books.
The sports books lost a record $2.6 million because not only did the huge underdogs cover the spread, but they won outright against the money line.
The money line for the Giants was somewhere around +350 on average, which set up for sizeable earnings for anyone who laid down money on New York to win the game.
The sports books said many came to Las Vegas looking to root for the underdog, and heavy bets werent thrown on the heavy favorite Patriots. |
