New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain threw 45 pitches from the mound and reported no problems with his shoulder, and a return to the teams bullpen seems to be just around the corner.
Chamberlains next step in the rehab process will be pitching in a simulated game Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
The pitcher has made it known that he doesnt feel like he needs to go on a rehab assignment and wants to be activated as soon as possible.
He is hoping to be activated from the disabled list next week, which would allow him to help the team down the stretch in the final month of the season.
While the team would love to put him back in the starting rotation, they are making the smart move by exercising caution with their young star. |
