The 76ers/>Philadelphia 76ers have put a cap on a busy and important offseason by re-signing restricted free agent guard Andre Iguodala to a six-year contract worth $80 million.
Many felt it was imperative that the Sixers re-signed the young, talented guard, who was the teams best all-around player until they signed forward Elton Brand in the offseason.
However, the $80 million price tag is likely to be a source of contention around the league, as many will feel the Sixers way overpaid for a guard who has yet to even make an All-Star team.
Iguodala helped lead the Sixers to the playoffs for the first time in three years in 2008 and is just 24 years old.
The Sixers hope to build a contending team around Iguodala, Brand, and Thaddeus Young, who had a solid rookie campaign. |
