Houston Astros slugging outfielder Carlos Lee underwent surgery on his left pinkie and will miss the rest of the season.
The surgery corrected multiple fractures in the finger and also repaired a series of complex lacerations.
Lee suffered the injury after being hit by a pitch. It will take six-to-eight weeks for it to heal, meaning his season is all but over.
The good news is that the injury isnt too serious and he will 100 percent in time for spring training next year.
Maybe the injury to Lee will finally convince the Astros, who trail by double digits in the National League Central, that they are not still in contention for a playoff spot. |
