The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired point guard Mo Williams in a three-team trade with the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Cavaliers have long been looking for a point guard so that some of the ball-handling duties can be taken away from superstar LeBron James.
As part of the deal, the Cavaliers sent shooting guard Damon Jones to the Bucks and forward Joe Smith to the Thunder.
Not only is Williams a good ball-handler who can orchestrate the offense and create for others, he is also a scorer. He averaged over 17 points a game last season, and his offense will also take some of the scoring burden off of James.
Williams has five years remaining on a six-year contract worth $51.5 million. |
