The Boston Red Sox are once again World Champions.
Once again, great starting pitching and a strong bullpen carried the Red Sox in a 3-1 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, completing the World Series sweep.
The Red Sox had to wait 86 years between their last World Series titles, but this time had to wait just four years. It could be an even shorter wait between the next titles when you examine the Boston roster and notice all the star players returning combined with the young prospects.
For Colorado, the bats just never got going in the World Series, and the time off between the NLCS and the World Series seemed to kill their momentum. They have a solid young nucleus and should be a playoff contender again next year. |
