Paul McCartney will be the first artist to release an album from Starbucks’ Hear Music Label.

The singer was present via satellite when Starbucks chairman announced the pairing. He said that "it’s a new world now and people are thinking of new ways to reach the people, and, for me, that’s always been my aim.’

The album is set for a summer release, and will be sold at Starbucks as well as other retailers. Financial details have not been announced.
