While many are upset that Luciano Pavarotti’s farewell tour has been cancelled, one person in particular is quite upset with the famous tenor’s absence from the musical world: Placido Domingo.

As he was signing at the World Cup soccer final festivities, Domingo’s eyes filled with tears as he recalled the past sixteen years performing with The Three Tenors:Pavarotti and Jose Carreras, and himself.

Pavarotti is currently recovering from surgery for pancreatic cancer, and Careras has beattled leukemia.

Domingo performed with tenor Rolando Villazon and soprano Anna Netrebko for Friday night’s concert.
