Bettis to throw out first pitch for Tigers

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jerome Bettis will throw out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers home opener of the 2006 MLB season. Bettis helped the Steelers win the Super Bowl this past season in the NFL. He is a Detroit native, which was the site of this year’s Super Bowl, making him the center of attention for the two weeks leading up to the game. Bettis’ career goal was to win the Super Bowl, and it continued to allude him for many years. Now that he has finally won the championship and taken many punishing hits on his body, it is very likely that he will retire from football.
