This summer, Weird Al Yankovic is kicking off his 42-city comedy tour, which runs from June to September.

The North American tour gets started at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth, Del., on June 16 and ends on Sept. 3 at the TWC Amphitheatre at Tower City in Cleveland, Ohio. Highlights from the three month tour include Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisc., on June 29; the Deschutes County Fair in Redmond, Ore., on July 31; the California State Fair in Sacremento on Aug. 1; and two performances at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Calif., on Aug. 13-14.

Yankovic's live shows often include live music from Yankovic and his band; tons of costume changes; and of course a slew of parodies that can be enjoyed by all ages. His latest work includes the August 2009 EP "Internet Leaks;" and appearances in two Nickelodeon children's shows: Back at the Barnyard and Yo Gabba Gabba.

Weird Al Yankovic, born Alfred Matthew Yankovic, is best known for his humorous parodies of popular culture, particularly music. His first song parody was released in 1979, and he has sold more than 12 million albums since then. Six of his records have been certified platinum and four have been certified gold. He's also won three Grammy Awards.

Yankovic got his start in the music business during high school when he sent in a homemade tape to the local radio station, Dr. Demento, a comedy radio show. After his high school graduation, Yankovic continued to experiment with comedy while he attended Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo as an architecture student.

In 1981, Yankovic started touring full time with the Dr. Demento stage show. Shortly after, Yankovic created a band and released their first album in 1983. The group has continued to tour since then, and Yankovic has also written and starred in the film "UHF" and television show, "The Weird Al Show."

Yankovic is also a music video director for other artists including Ben Folds and Hanson.
