Virgin Mobile Festival Tickets

The Virgin Festival by Virgin Mobile will be held August 9th and 10th in Baltimore, and will feature performances by massive and musically diverse acts such as Foo Fighters, Kanye West, Bob Dylan, and Lil Wayne.

This will be the festivals third year at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD, home of The Preakness Stakes, middle jewel of the Thoroughbred horse racings triple crown.

This year Foo Fighters, Johnson, The Offspring and Wilco will top the billing for Saturday, as well as up-and-coming artists such as The Swell Season, KT Tunstall and Cat Power. On Sunday, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, West, Dylan and Lil Wayne will take the stage.

There is no camping at the Virgin Festival, but that certainly doesnt take away from the community atmosphere that most festivals offer up. Organizers are offering state of the art technology, community events, attractions and even some horse racing. There will also be a dance tent for concertgoers to enjoy.

The festival is a version of the V Festival in Britain, and has spawned events in Canada. The inaugural U.S. event was held in 2006 and featured performances by Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, The Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, The Raconteurs, The Killers, Wolf Mother and The New Pornographers, among others.

But, as usual, its not just the music - the tour has been known to offer up Incredibly Strange Wrestling, a band that plays car parts, roaming bushes, graffiti artists and the Charm City Roller Girls, fire sculptures and kinetic robots.
