U2 News and Information
Posted 6/18/2009
U2 will begin the 2nd leg of their worldwide 'U2 360 Tour' stadium tour in June in support of "No Line on the Horizon." The tour is accurately dubbed because it features a 360-degree stage allowing fans to surround the band and see the action from every side.

The band, which has been together since 1976, will be traveling behind their newest album, "No Line on the Horizon," their twelfth studio album. U2 recently performed "Get On Your Boots," the album's first single, at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The tour will go through Europe and North America, with each leg being six weeks long.

U2 got their start in 1976 in Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar) and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion).

Currently, U2 has sold more than 145 million albums worldwide and has won 22 Grammy Awards, which is more than any other band.

In 2005, during the first year of their eligibility, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

To date, U2 has twelve studio albums: "Boy" (1980), "October" (1981), "War" (1983), "The Unforgettable Fire" (1984), "The Joshua Tree" (1987), "Rattle and Hum" (1988), "Achtung Baby" (1991), "Zooropa" (1993), "Pop" (1997), "All That You Can't Leave Behind" (2000), "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" (2004) and their latest, "No Line on the Horizon" (2009).
