U2 360 Tour Update
Posted 6/15/2010
U2 has postponed the second leg of the North American portion of their 360 tour until 2011, because of a back injury sustained by front man Bono. U2 has promised to reschedule all the dates, but not until sometime in 2011.The band canned all 16 tour dates scheduled throughout the U.S. and Canada giving rocker Bono time to heal.

A U2 press release described his injury as a "severe compression of the sciatic nerve" and "a serious tear in the ligament and a herniated disc." He underwent surgery in Germany on May 21 and is recovering in Ireland for a mandatory minimum of eight weeks.

The tour was originally scheduled to run from June 3 to July 19 in North America before heading overseas from Aug.6 to Oct. 8; however, the overseas concerts are not on the schedule until fall and have not been postponed. The assumption is that Bono's physical rehab will be complete by then so they can honor these concert commitments.
