With a handful of stand up comedy dates in the U.S. this summer, funnyman Tracy Morgan is proving that he isn't contained to the big screen for his latest movie "Death at a Funeral."

Morgan is scheduled to kick off his comedy routine on May 14 in Reno, Nev., at the Silver Legacy Casino and is scheduled to wrap up on June 5 in Las Vegas at The Joint/Hard Rock Hotel. On May 29, Morgan is scheduled to perform with fellow comedian Lavell Crawford in Southhaven, Miss. Morgan's tour also includes stops in Massachusetts, Washington and Virginia.

New York native Tracy Morgan hails from The Bronx where he was raised in the Marcy Projects. When he was 16, Morgan was "discovered" when performing stand-up comedy at The Apollo.

In 1996, Morgan became a regular on Saturday Night Live, where he stayed until 2003. His most famous characters include Brian Fellow(s), Dominican Lou, Uncle Jemima, Bishop Don "Mack" Donald, Astronaut Jones, African Andy, Benny the Bengal and Woodrow.

In 2003, Morgan had his own show, called "The Tracy Morgan Show," but it was canceled after only one season. Coincidentally, Morgan has become a staple on Tina Fey's show "30 Rock" where he plays Tracy Jordan, a caricature of himself.

When he's not busy performing stand-up or acting on "30 Rock," Morgan is acting for movies. Since his first film "Half Baked" in 1998, Morgan has acted in another 17 popular movies: How High (2001); Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001); 30 Years to Life (2001); Head of State (2003); The Longest Yard (2005); Are We There Yet? (2005); Little Man (2006); VH1's Totally Awesome (2006); Farce of the Penguins (2006); First Sunday (2008); Superhero Movie (2008); Beer for My Horses (2008); Scare Tactics (2008); G-Force (2009); Nailed (2010); Cop Out (2010); and Death at a Funeral (2010).

He has also written an autobiography about his life, titled "I Am the New Black," which includes stories about moving from the Projects to the cast of Saturday Night Live.
