Trace Adkins has been a Honky Tonk staple for the past decade, enduring pains and experiencing great successes.
Adkins grew up singing gospel, joining a gospel group in high school. After graduation, he lost the pinky finger on his left hand and had doctors reattach it at an angle so that he could continue his passion, guitar.
After performing in bars around Nashville, the singer was discovered by a Capitol Records executive and was soon after signed to the label. He released his debut album, Dreamin Out Loud" in 1996, which included the massive hit Theres a Girl in Texas" and the popular single (This Ain) No Thinkin Thing."
Big Time" was his follow-up, which included the hit Rest of Mine," and in 1999 he released More." By the beginning of the following decade, Adkins was starting to deal with a drinking problem, so he delayed his next album. In 2002, he released Chrome" to massive success. The album was his most popular to date.
In 2003, the singer released a greatest hits album and Comin On Strong"- he was also honored with an induction into the Grand Ole Opry. Songs About Me" was the next album for Adkins, which included the smash crossover hit Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" and the wartime song Arlington," which put Adkins in the news for its controversial nature.
In 2006, he released Dangerous Man" which included his biggest single to date, Ladies Love Country Boys." In 2007, Adkins released his second best-of collection.
