News and Information
Rock band Tool will headline the August 22nd Epicenter Festival, as part of their summer outing that kicks off July 19th.

The new one-day festival in Pomona, CA, will also include Linkin Park, Alice in Chains, Wolfmother, Atmosphere, Hollywood Undead, Atreyu, Street Sweeper Social Club, Aesop Rock and Sonny.

Ringleaders Tool are known for their raging performances, combining the intensity of their metal sound with tremendous visual arts and musical experimentation. Band mates Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones came together and found success relatively quickly - after only a few gigs in the Los Angeles area they were approached by record companies, and three months into their career they signed with Zoo Entertainment.

The group released their first full-length album, "Undertow," in 1993 - the height of the alternative rock movement. The band began a rigorous touring schedule, which has become standard, including the Lollapalooza festival tour. The album was moderately successful, and created a stir due to the censorship, such as MTV, refusing to air some of their music videos.

"AEnima" was released in 1996, and paid tribute to satirist Bill Hicks, who had died almost three years prior. The group continued to tour relentlessly through the world, including a headlining gig with Lollapalooza, compared to the spot on a smaller stage that they had only three years prior.

The band released "Lateralus" in 2001, and it became a worldwide success. Tool received their second Grammy Award for "Schism," and a large-scale tour followed.

In 2006, the guys put out "10,000 Days," which was tremendously successful. The album garnered another Grammy Award for "Best Recording Package" that year. The band toured through 2008 and went on hiatus - that is, until they announced their 2009 Summer Tour.

They kick off at the Mile High Music Festival in Commerce City, Colorado, and they also have plans for another go-round at Lollapalooza in August.
