T.I., also known by his alter ego T.I.P., released his sixth album "Paper Trail," in September 2008. The name of the album was inspired by the artist writing the lyrics down on paper.
T.I. abandoned his initial style of rapping after his debut album "Im Serious" by memorizing lyrics. According to a T.I. representative, "He wanted to take more time to really put something down." The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 568,000 copies just in the United States.
T.I. released his hit single "Whatever You Like" on July 29, and it has been his most successful single of his career thus far, while breaking the record for the highest jump in ratings on the Billboard Hot 100, jumping from #71 to #1. However, it wasnt long before he was at it again breaking his own record on the Billboard Hot 100 with a subsequent single "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna, which jumped from #80 to #1.
T.I. volunteered during Thanksgiving at Atlantas largest Thanksgiving dinner at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. The event was organized by the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless and turned out close to 22,000 people. Additionally, T.I. raised nearly $100,000 within two hours during a local radio show the day before.
"It's a pleasure for me to help service those who are definitely in need of the service," said T.I. before taking his spot in the serving line.
