The Weepies are an indie pop-folk band fronted by singer-songwriters Steve Tannen and Deb Talan. Their music has been described as "subtly intoxicating folk-pop".[1] The two musicians, who were both active in separate singer-songwriter careers, met in 2001 at a show Tannen was playing at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. They quickly found a deep musical bond and began playing together. In 2005, they were signed to Nettwerk Records.[2] Currently, Tannen and Talan reside together in Topanga, California.
