News and Information
The Wallflowers are traveling through the end of August, having kicked things off in mid-June. They have a number of shows left in the Midwest and Northeast.

Though the rockers, who tend to take time between releases, have no new material to tout, they have been well-received by fans throughout the country.

The Jakob Dylan-fronted band came together in 1989 in Los Angeles. Their sound ranged from soft alt-rock to a much harder classic rock sound - they counted Tom Petty, Elvis Costello and The Clash as influences when developing their sound.

The rockers released their self-titled debut in 1992. While it was praised by critics, it wasn't commercially successful. Their follow-up, 1996's "Bringing Down the House" found success in both realms. It included hits such as "6th Avenue Heartache" with Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, "One Headlight," "The Difference" and "Three Marlenas." Not only was the album certified 4X Platinum by the RIAA, but it scored two Grammy Awards in 1998 - one for Best Rock Performance and one for Best Rock Song, both for "One Headlight." A massive tour followed the release, and the band also found success with their cover of "Heroes" for the 1998 soundtrack to "Godzilla."

The Wallflowers released their next album, "(Breach)," in 2000. Singles from the album included "Sleepwalker," "Letters from the Wasteland," as well as the oft-noted track "Hand Me Down." The latter is said to be a reflection from Dylan on being the son of the iconic rocker Bob Dylan. The album "Red Letter Days" followed in 2002 and marked a more aggressive sound, with singles such as "Closer to You" and "When You're On Top."

The band's most recent release was "Rebel, Sweetheart" in 2005. It included the singles "The Beautiful Side of Somewhere" and "God Says Nothing Back." The band didn't tour in 2006 behind the album, and instead hit the road for a number of clubs in the Northeast and the Midwest U.S. towards the end of the year.

Dylan released his first solo album, "Seeing Things," on June 10th, 2008. He also formed a touring band, Jakob Dylan and the Gold Mountain Rebels, and hit the road a bit over the summer.

The Wallflowers have announced a Greatest Hits collection on the way, though there has been no talk of a new studio album.
