The current band which consists of Anthony Kearns, Finbar Wright, and Karl Scully, continues to tour, thrilling old fans and winning over new ones. In the U.S., they are one of the most successful Irish touring acts ever, coming in second only to U2.
The Irish Tenors are a musical trio originally from Ireland, who got their start in 1998 by television producer Bill Hughes for a PBS special "The Irish Tenors."
In 2006, the successful trio of voices spurred Hughes to produce a nine part television series for Irelands RTE, titled "The Irish Tenors & Friends." Those performing with them included Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Paul Carrick, Finbar Furey, Hayley Wetenra, Shayne Ward, Sharon Shannon, Peter Grant, Rebecca Storm, Lucia Evans, and Celine Byrne.
The South Carolina Legislature issued a "Proclamation" in 2007 welcoming the Irish Tenors to their state.
