Derek Trucks, the slide guitarist from the Allman Brothers Band, has been performing with the seasoned artists since he was merely eleven years old, and now he is branching out on his own with some excellent talent.

In 1994, the band was loosely formed around his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla., and was tagged "Derek and the Dominators." The band developed an eclectic sound over the years, including artists on flute, keyboards, and an extensive rhythm section. Currently the band includes Todd Smallie (bass), Yonrico Scott (drums), Kovi Burbridge (keyboards, flute, vocals), Mike Mattison (lead vocals) and Count M'Butu (African drums).

The Derek Trucks Band is known for their blend of soul, jazz, rock, Latin and blues music, built from the perfect combination from each talented band member.

In 1997, the group released their self-titled debut, and over the years they released five more stadium albums, two live recordings and one DVD. Their most recent album, "Already Free," includes the single "Down in the Flood." The collection includes guest performances from Doyle Bramhall II, Oteil Burnbridge, Dusan Tedeschi and Eric Kranso.
