The Stone Temple Pilots are back this summer with their new self titled release and a highly anticipated summer tour. Joining STP on their summer road trip is special guest Cage the Elephant.

STP's new album, which is their first in nearly a decade, debuted last month. STP went on hiatus in 2002 just after the release of their most recent album, "Shangri-La Dee Da." They reunited in 2008 and have been in the studio or on the road ever since.

The band's 18-city North American summer tour kicks off on Aug. 10 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and ends on Sept. 17 at Arizona's Tempe Beach Park Amphitheatre. Some highlights of the tour include Aug. 7 at Canada's Rock On The Range in Winnipeg, Cleveland's Tower City on Aug. 22, and Boston's Bank of America Pavilion on Sept. 1.

The media promotion has been on for the new album. Most recently Scott Weiland the boys appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Their first single, "Between the Lines," is rumored to be a post-divorce homage to Weiland's ex-wife, and to their drug-addled marriage.
