Christopher Guest and Michael McKean of Spinal Tap are traveling this spring and summer on the "Unwigged and Unplugged" tour.
Guest and McKean, AKA David St. Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel, of the mockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap," have perfected their art of comedic rock, and are ready to share it with fans all over the world.
The band first appeared on the 1978 comedy special "The TV Show," which eventually led to the feature film "This is Spinal Tap." Spinal Tap's history is entirely fictional, and includes an array of entertaining stories. The film also featured a hit soundtrack of the same name.
After the film's release, they recorded, released and performed about as regularly as you could expect a fictitious comedy band to do - but when they did get together, the performances were certainly entertaining.
In 1992 Spinal Tap reunited to record "Break Like the Wind," and they toured all over the world to support the effort. In 2001, the band came together again for the "Back from the Dead Tour," and in 2007 they joined forces to combat global warming, which included the ever-appropriate new song "Warmer Than Hell."
The group is currently working on another album to celebrate its 25th anniversary, titled "Back from the Dead."
