Though a back injury kept the two from completing their co-headlining "American Carnage" tour earlier, Slayer and Megadeth have announced they are now recovered and ready to move forward full steam ahead to resume touring together with rescheduled dates in July, August and September 2010.
Six performances in Canada, which were originally scheduled for November 2009, have now been scheduled in July. After those dates, the bands head back overseas for a handful of shows before returning to the U.S. in August and September for 20 more gigs.
Four shows that weren't originally scheduled have been added at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater in Cleveland, Ohio on Aug. 18; the Capitol Federal Park in Bonner Springs, Mo., on Aug. 23; the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Calif., on Aug. 29l and the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif., on Sept. 1. The tour ultimately wraps up on Sept. 4 in Portland, Ore.
To fill the gap that was left by the first "American Carnage" tour postponements, and to allow time for Tom Araya to recuperate, Megadeth announced a spring tour with Exodus and Testament, and spent March 2010 with a 20-year reunion celebration of "Rust in Peace," the band's fourth studio album.
