July 2010 is going to be the official "Old Friends" month as the legendary duo of Simon and Garfunkel tour through the US and Canada. With the release of their "Live 1967" CD and the extra tour dates that have been added, the nation will be treated to a rare opportunity to see and hear the men that made Mrs. Robinson famous.

The tour begins on July 3rd in Vancouver, British Columbia, but the 'old friends' have been making appearances all over the nation just for fun. Recently they popped in on their own Simon and Garfunkel tribute show in New York City, just to set the record straight that they are still the greatest singing/songwriting folk duo of our time.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel grew up as close friends in Forrest Hills, Queens, New York. After brief attempts to be a singing duo, they gained mega recognition when Simon's brilliant song, Mrs. Robinson, was partnered with Dustin Hoffman's performance in 'The Graduate'.

Simon's commentary in his songwriting gave the nation many anthems. "The Sounds of Silence," "I Am A Rock," "Homeward Bound," "Hazy Shade of Winter," "Scarborough Fair," "The Boxer," and later, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" are only a few of the songs that gave a voice to the 1960's American.

Their peak years, between 1965 and 1970, produced several Grammys as well as an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. They became known for their vocal harmonies, and what appeared to be a not so harmonious relationship. After their break up in 1970, Simon nurtured his solo career while Garfunkel tried his hand at acting. Both talented men succeeded in living without each other, and have staged several reunion concerts, the most noteworthy being "The Concert in Central Park," when they performed to a crowd of 500,000 in 1981.
