Shinedown Carnival of Madness Tour Summer 2010
Posted 7/26/2010
Following a tour with Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin and Sick Puppies earlier this year, Shinedown has once again joined forces with a handful of popular bands to bring you the Carnival of Madness tour. It is the only place where you will see Shinedown, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust and 10 Years in one place at one time. The tour kicked off on July 16 in Jacksonville, Fla., and runs through Aug. 24 in Casper, Wyo.
Highlights of the tour include stops at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. on July 28; the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Aug. 4; and the Time Warner Cable Amphitheatre in Cleveland on Aug. 9.
Shinedown and Chevelle are also scheduled to co-headline the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia on Aug. 13 and the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on Aug. 14.
Following the conclusion of the Carnival of Madness, Shinedown is also scheduled to play 8 solo tour dates from Aug. 27 through Oct. 2. They continue to tour in support of 2008's The Sound of Madness.
Shinedown was founded in 2001 by members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd and Barry Kerch in Jacksonville, Fla. Their debut album, Leave a Whisper, emerged in 2003 and immediately gained success from the songs "Fly From the Inside," "Burning Bright" and "45." Following the tour, Shinedown also released Live From the Inside, a live DVD of the album and documentary.
2005 found the band back in the studio to record their next album Us and Them, which contained the hit song "Save Me." Following the album's release, the band joined their first multi-headlining SnoCone Tour with Seether, Flyleaf and Halestorm. The band decided to take some time off, which led to a three year break before their third and most recent studio album was released.
The Sound of Madness (2008) was the group's final album with the original band members, as Jasin Todd is no longer a member of the band. Though Shinedown has not mentioned any upcoming albums, they have still been hard at work in the studio completing two songs for movie soundtracks: "Her Name is Alice" for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and "Diamond Eyes" for the Sylvester Stallone movie "The Expendables."
