Seven years ago, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken were facing off in front of millions for the top spot on American Idol. This year, they're taking the stage together again, but for a completely different reason: a summer co-headlining tour.

Though Studdard was ultimately the winner and Aiken came in at a close second, the two have put their American Idol days behind them and remained friends since 2003. Now, they're combining their talents for a handful of shows throughout the East Coast and Midwest.

The tour kicks off on July 23 in Asheville, N.C., and runs through Aug. 14 in Biloxi, Miss. Along the way, the duo promises a bevy of surprise guests, as well as performances separate and together.

"It is truly a blessing and an honor to be on the stage with my friend," Studdard said. "The relationship that we have built over these past eight years will definitely translate into a great show for our fans. And I'm really looking forward to singing the timeless classics every night."
