Guatemalan singer Ricardo Arjona is touring this summer behind his newest album, and he will hit the U.S. in August and September.
Arjona was raised in Guatemala City and learned to play the guitar by the age of 8. When he was 21, he recorded his first album but didn't enjoy the process and decided to go into teaching instead.
Arjona also spent time as a basketball player - he played for the Leones de Marte and TRIAS, but eventually got back involved and released his second album, "Jesus, Verbo, No Sustantivo," The album was the best-selling in some Central American countries.
Over his career, he released fourteen more albums and gained acclaim throughout the world for his political and social satire through his music.
Arjona will kick things off July 30th in Miami, Fla., and will continue up the East Coast and out West before finishing up in September 13th in Las Vegas, NV.
