The Reverend Horton Heat is a rockabilly/psychobilly trio from Dallas, Texas. While many people in the mainstream may not know the name, they have without doubt developed into one of the most popular underground acts in the country.

The group formed in 1985 with Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath on guitar and lead vocals, Jimbo Wallace on upright bass and Paul Simmons on drums. The group toured constantly through the South, cultivating their sound - a mix of country, big band swing, punk and rockabilly.

The Reverend released their first album, "Smoke 'em if You Got 'em" in 1990, and they have been releasing albums relatively steadily since then, while they also spend a massive amount of time on the road. In 2005, they put out "We Three Kings: Christmas Favorites" and in 2006 they released "20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of The Reverend Horton Heat."

A number of singles have also been released from the band, including "Big Little Baby" in 1988, before their debut album, "Psychobilly Freakout" in 1990 and "It Was a Very Good Year" in 2000, with a number of releases in between. In 2003, they released the DVD "Reverend Horton Heat: Live and in Color," and in 2004 they put out "Reverend Horton Heat: Revival."

In addition to all of the albums The Reverend has released, the group also has appeared in a number of products advertisements and compilations. They performed music for a number of video games, including "Redneck Rampage," "Hot Wheels Turbo Racing," "Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3," "Guitar Hero II."

As far as product placement goes, the groups "Big Red Rocket of Love" was used for a Mazda Miata commercial, and the instrumental track "Big Sky" was used for Levis Jeans. Soundtracks include "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls," "Major League 3: Back to the Minors" and "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas."
