Regina Spektor is planning a short jaunt through the U.S. in September and October, starting with two stops in the Midwest and eventually traveling down the East Coast, including a September 30th stop at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

The singer-songwriter, who is often associated with the anti-folk scene of New York City, entered the musical arena in 1999. She was born in Moscow to a Jewish family, and learned piano at an early age. After immigrating to the Bronx in New York, Spektor changed her sights from solely classical music to a more alternative sound, she gained a name for herself in downtown New York City as an up-and-coming artists. She frequented venues such as East Village's Sidewalk Caf?the Living Room, Tonic, Fez, the Knitting Factory and CB's Gallery.

She released her first album, "11:11" in 2001, and has since put out four additional full-length albums and two EP's. Her most popular single to date was "Fidelity," which was released in 2006 off of the "Begin to Hope" album.

Spektor's music has been found in a number of films, as well. She wrote "The call" for "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," "Better" for "My Sister's Keeper," and two tracks - "Us" and "Hero" for the film "(500) Days of Summer."
