Raven Symone is touring this summer to promote her most recent album, "Raven-Symone.” Her fourth studio album, Symone is demonstrating a more grown-up sound for a more diverse audience.
Symone has become a renaissance woman in the 'tween realm, mastering film, TV, and now trying her hand as a solo artist after a successful stint with The Cheetah Girls from the Disney Channel.
Symone grew up in Atlanta, Ga., and began her career as an infant model. She quickly moved on to The Cosby Show as Olivia Kendall, the three-year-old daughter of Denis Huxtable. She stayed with the show through the end in 1992 and joined "Hangin with Mr. Cooper” as a main character. Currently she stars in "Thats So Raven” on the Disney channel. The show is Disneys highest-rated and longest-running series and has spawned soundtracks, merchandise, video games and another television show, "Cory in the House.”
Symone has also tried her hand, successfully, at the film industry. She had roles in films such as "Dr. Dolittle,” "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” and most recently "College Road Trip” with Martin Lawrence. She also starred in the Disney Channel original films "Cheetah Girls” and "The Cheetah Girls 2.”
While Symone has found much success on film and television, she is now focusing all of her efforts on her singing career. She released her debut album, "Heres to New Dreams,” in 1993 when she was only eight years old. She released three more commercially unsuccessful albums, but has brought on some heavy-hitting producers such as Sean Garrett to help her with her upcoming release.
