Rain: The Beatles Experience is back in Georgia, Florida, California, Arizona and Washington between October 2009 and May 2010. This production is like nothing you've ever seen before. It consists of five scene and costume changes, 3 video screens, live cameras, and historical television footage and commercials. However, the multi-media does not get in the way of the most important thing: the music.
Throughout the entire five scenes, the music is performed live with no pre-recording. The first set begins in 1964 at the Ed Sullivan Show. The band, dressed in the authentic Saville Row custom tailored suits sport the Beatles boots as well as the hair styles of John, Paul, George and Ringo. Combined with a black and white camera, the audience is immediately taken back to the first night the Beatles ever appeared on American TV.
Next, the band is transported to Shea Stadium where 56,000 fans await (making it the group's largest attended concert in history). The live cameras provide the audience with close-up views of the band members before they are transported to…
The third set, AKA 'Sgt. Pepper' era, where the band plays in front of a huge cover of the Sgt. Pepper album. It's just like seeing the Beatles live in concert, something that didn't happen after 1966, and of course they never performed Sgt. Pepper live.
An intermission separates the third and fourth sets, then the group is back for some flower power, and the group performs music from 1967-68.The last set is a re-creation of Abbey Road, complete with costume changes and music from 1969-70.
Rain offers an incredible look into the Beatles lives' and music in a way that has never been offered before.
