Pretty Ricky exploded onto the R&B/hip-hop scene in 2005, and their four-part harmonies have kept the quartet to the top of the charts ever since.
Brothers Diamond Blue "Baby Blue" Smith, Spectacular Blue Smith, Corey Lamar "SlickEm" Mathis and Marcus Ramone "Pleasure" Cooper got together in 1997. The bands debut, "Bluestars," was released in May of 2005 and included the massive hit single "Grind With Me." The next two singles from the album were "Your Body" and "Nothing But A Number" - "Juicy" was also released, but no video was ever recorded.
The bands popularity was on the rise when they toured with fellow hip-hoppers Bow Wow and Omarion on the Scream 4 Tour in 2005, and they relived the fun the following year with Ne-Yo and Omarion.
The band continued to churn out hits with a second album, "Late Night Special," in 2007. The first single off of the album was "On the Hotline," including a local artist Andre Jones. "Push it Baby" was also released.
Now that the band has solidified its prominence in the hip-hop game, Pretty Ricky has developed the Pretty Clothing Line, which provided costumes for the first three music videos - "Love Like Honey," "On the Hotline" and "Push it Baby."
The band also participated in Spring Bling 07, which helped them to score a "Best Group" nomination at the BET Awards. Thats not the only music station that seems to enjoy them - they also performed on "Super Sweet 16: The Movie" for MTV.
While there have been some rumors about the group disbanding, all involved refute the claims. In fact, they are using the internet to garner fans more than ever, including special contests on websites such as YouTube. In fact, on YouTube the Pretty Ricky channel ranks 7th of all musical acts.
