Eighties pre-grunge sensations The Pixies are taking their reunion to the next level with a tour celebrating the anniversary of the hit release "Doolittle." They will be performing the album in its entirety, along with other fan favorites, at more than a dozen stops coast-to-coast this November.

For several years, The Pixies were broken up, and many thought they would never again have the chance to see the group that Kurt Cobain helped make famous. Now, The Pixies are back and better than ever with shows in California, Washington State, Oregon, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia!

Frontman Black Francis also recently said that the Pixies were planning to return to the studio to record their sixth full length album some time during 2010.

The Pixies, which includes members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering, formed in Boston, Mass., in January 1986. For the next seven years the band stayed together and released some of the most memorable tracks of the 80s before internal friction disbanded them in 1993.

Bassist/vocalist Kim Deal went on to form The Breeders with her twin sister, Kelly, and they achieved success in their own right. Black Francis, aka Frank Black, has also had a prolific run as a solo artist. The group first reunited in 2004 to headline one night at the Coachella Music Festival. They've been touring sporadically ever since.

The group is best known for their alternative punk rock, but has never achieved mainstream success, possibly in part to the lyrics in their songs, which range from incest to UFOs.

To date, they have released five albums: Come On Pilgrim (1987); Surfer Rosa, (1988); Doolittle (1989); Bossanova (1990); and Trompe le Monde (1991).
