Throughout late October, Pitbull is touring across North America with Enrique Iglesias and Prince Royce in support of his new album, Planet Pit.
The Euphoria Tour, which concludes on Oct. 22 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, includes gigs at Boston's TD Garden on Sept. 22; the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Sept. 29; the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Oct. 6; the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas, on Oct. 15 and more.
Planet Pit, Pitbull's sixth studio album, debuted in June 2011. It features the singles "Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)," "Give Me Everything" and "Rain Over Me."
American rapper Pitbull, born as Armando Christian Perez, was born to Cuban immigrant parents and raised in Miami. After he graduated high school, he focused on his career in music. While Pitbull might sound like a strange name for a rapper to choose, he justifies his decision by saying "They (pitbulls) bite to lock. The dog is too stupid to lose. And they're outlawed in Dade County. They're basically everything that I am. It's been a constant fight."
In 2002, Pitbull was introduced to Lil Jon and in hopes of getting a small guest spot on the album Kings of Crunk. Instead, the two hit it off and Pitbull was given his own track on the album. In 2004, Pitbull released his first studio album, M.I.A.M.I, which stands for "Money Is A Major Issue." The album jumped to No. 11 on the Hot Rap Tracks Billboard chart, and Pitbull soon found himself touring with Eminem and 50 Cent on the Anger Management Tour.
All together, Pitbull has released six studio albums, including El Mariel (2006), The Boatlift (2007), Rebelution (2009), Armando (2010), and Planet Pit (2011). Moreso than his own albums, he's also widely known as a contributing artist in many other albums. He has been featured in over 30 singles, working with everyone from Ne-Yo and Afrojack to T-Pain, Marc Anthony, Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias, Kelly Rowland, Jamie Foxx and Sean Paul.
