British electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys are returning to North America this summer for their "Pandemonium Tour," supporting their most recent release, "Yes."
The pair is currently touring Europe, and will be ready to take North America by storm starting August 29th. They will tour through late September in Las Vegas. A two-night stint at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City is planned, as well as a number of stops on the East Coast and several stops on the West Coast, plus one in Canada.
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe make up this dynamic duo. Tennant provides main vocals, keyboards, and some guitar, and Lowe offers up keyboards and occasional vocals.
The longevity of their career is generally attributed to their ability to create melodic pop/dance music with intelligent lyrics and striking style. They are one of the most consistently successful duos in pop music, particularly in Europe.
Since 1986, they have had 38 top 40 singles in the UK including four number ones: "West End Girls", "It's a Sin", "Always on My Mind" and "Heart". They have sold 30 million albums worldwide since their debut.
They were very successful in the United States in the mid-1980s, however their mainstream popularity waned by 1988 with their final top 40 single, "Domino Dancing", reaching number 18 on the US pop chart.
The band's most recent release, "Yes," hit shelves in late April. It is the band's 10th album and is their highest-charting effort since 1993's "Very."
