Paul McCartney 2011 Summer Tour News
Posted 7/22/2011
Paul McCartney refuses to let the heat slow him down, but he is choosing his venues wisely. This summer, Sir Paul will play a select few dates at some of the nation's most storied ballfields to a slew of appreciative fans.
Between now and the beginning of August, the former Beatle will take his vast musical catalogue to Comerica Park in Detroit (7/24), Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec (7/26-27), two nights at Wrigley Field in Chicago (7/31-8/1) and finish off at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati (8/4).
When he's not playing live, McCartney spends his time on his philanthropic and activist ventures. This September, Showtime will be airing his documentary, "The Love We Make," which gives fans a behind the curtains peek at the making of McCartney's 2001 "Concert for New York City." The concert was his love letter to NYC after the September 11th terrorist attacks, in hopes of raising both money for and the spirits of the victims, rescue workers and residents of New York. This September marks the tenth anniversary of 9/11.
