While California's favorite punk band, The Offspring are taking a breather from recording their 9th studio album, you will be able to catch them touring this summer with 311. Tickets are available now for the June and July dates, beginning in Las Vegas, NV on June 18th. Dates with 311 are: 6/29, 7/2, 7/3, 7/5, 7/7, 7/9, 7/10, 7/11, 7/13, 7/14, 7/16, 7/17, 7/18, 7/20, 7/21, 7/23, and 7/24.

The 'Unity Tour' promises to feature some of Offspring's best new material, as promised by Dexter. When asked what the concept is behind the new album, Noodles told reporters that it would be a continuation of "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" via "Smash." Dexter swears the new album is just straight up rock, but he is also talking about releasing a live album after they tour this summer.

Sony will be releasing an exclusive untitled Japanese compilation album on July 28th of this year, as well.

The original band formed in 1984 in Huntington Beach, Calif., when the 16-year-old high school classmates, Dexter Holland and Greg Kriesel, made the decision to start their own band after being refused entry to a Social Distortion concert. Kevin 'Noodles' Wasserman, the school janitor, was welcomed into their band, allegedly because he was old enough to buy them alcohol, and had a mean guitar hand.

The Offspring's 1994 release titled, "Smash," with hit
singles, "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem", and "Gotta Get Away", set the all time sales record by an independent record label. "Smash" has maintained a high profile and continued to be a best seller over the last 16 years.

After recording their eighth studio album, "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace", in 2006, their drummer Adam Willard left the band to drum with Angels and Airwaves. Pete Parada, the replacement drummer, accompanied the band at the Sonic Festival in Japan that year, where they debuted their first hit single, "Hammerhead."

The band has announced that they will join the Sonic Festival in Japan again this August, after they complete the Unity Tour with 311. They are adamant about telling the press they are taking a break from recording in order to tour, however, they recently released a short clip from the upcoming album on their web site.

There is no telling what these prolific punkers will do next. What we know for sure is that you can catch them live this summer!
