Nicki Minaj just released "Massive Attack," the first single from her upcoming album and Ke$ha is touring in support of her debut album, "Animal."
Nicki Minaj was raised in Queens, NY, and attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, the same school that inspired the movie "Fame." Growing up, she saw the effects of her alcoholic, abusive father and strove to become successful in an effort to make a better life for her and her mother.
Nicki was discovered via MySpace and signed to the Dirty Money Entertainment label. Soon after, she appeared on Young Money's DVD Series "The Come Up" and recorded her first mix tape "Playtime Is Over," where she appeared as a Barbie doll on the cover. She released several mix tapes, was featured on 18 album tracks and 11 remixes before she released any singles of her own.
In April 2010, she released "Massive Attack," the first song from her highly anticipated debut album. The song features producers Sean Garrett and Alex Da Kid. Though her yet-untitled album was originally scheduled for a March 2010 release, self-proclaimed perfectionist Nicki has decided to wait until she thinks the album can "meet/surpass everyone's expectation." The second single from the album is titled "Your Love."
