Mythbusters debuted in January 2003 on the Discovery Channel with co-hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage. Hyneman is a special effects expert and Savage is an expert in industrial design and special effects. Together the duo research myths and prove them busted, plausible or confirmed.
The show has more than 200 episodes and nine seasons, making it one of the Discovery Channel's most popular shows. Each Mythbusters show focuses on two myths, rumors or popular beliefs. The hosts will talk to several people, from crew members to experts, to get more information on the subject. They will then make a blueprint drawing noting how they plan to test the various theories.
Many of the shows focus on myths with guns, explosives and car accidents, though they also have funny competitions, such as who can find a needle in a haystack faster and who has the best solution to the presented problem.
