Moody Blues

News and Information
Moody Blues released one of the most notable concept albums of all time, scoring some extremely popular singles and gaining legendary status in the progressive rock world all the while.

John Lodge, Graeme Edge, Justin Hayward, Ray Thomas and Michael Pinder founded the group in 1964. They released Steal Your Heart Away and Go Now" that same year, which brought them popularity in England, their home.

The band then released the concept album Days of Future Passed." The collection is known as one of the most notable concept albums of all time, and was also among the most successful. The Days" was noted for its elaborate instrumental arrangements and orchestra-oriented sounds. The album included the hit singles Nights in White Satin" and Forever Afternoon," also known as Tuesday Afternoon."

The band followed up the album with In Search of the Lost Chord" and A Question of Balance." That latter was released in 1970, and they released two more before 1973 when they announced they were breaking up.

The break up turned out to be a hiatus, with the band reuniting and releasing Octave" in 1978. The group began to record less often, putting out The Present" in 1983, The Other Side of Life" in 1986, Keys to the Kingdom" in 1991, Strange Times in 1999 and December in 2003.
