Montgomery Gentry News and Information Montgomery Gentry is a honky tonk duo from Kentucky, and has become one of the best known groups in country music.

The pair began as a trio - brothers Eddie and John Michael Montgomery joined with Troy Gentry in the early 1990s, but John Michael soon left to pursue a successful solo career. Eddie and Gentry pursued solo careers as well, but they decided in 1999 joined forced again and the rest is county music history.

In 1999, the group released the platinum-selling "Tattoos and Scars,” which included the hit "Lonely and Gone.” The follow-up album was "Carrying On,” which was also successful, featuring the hit "She Couldnt Change Me.”

"My Town” was next up for the duo, which was certified platinum and hit No. 3 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. The collection included the title track and "Hell Yeah.” "You Do Your Thing,” released in 2004, was also successful - it included the groups first No.1 Country single, "If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” followed by their second, "Something to be Proud Of.”

Most recently, the duo put out "Some People Change.” Released in 2007, the album includes the title track, "Lucky Man” and "What Do Ya Think About That.” Gentry has said that a new album is on the way, and it will be more hard rock -infused than recent albums, taking the band back to their original raucous stylings.
