Melissa Etheridge Tickets

Melissa Etheridge is touring the East Coast in June and July, and will head West in August. She is supporting her most recent album, "The Awakening."


Etheridge is one of the premiere female rockers in America, having won two Grammy Awards, and Academy Award, and sold about 14 million albums in the U.S. and 27 million worldwide.

The rocker came onto the scene by performing in a number of lesbian bars and eventually was hired by A&M Records as a songwriter. She was signed by Island Records in 1986, and released her self-titled debut two years later. The album included the hits "Like the Way I Do" and "Bring Me Some Water."

While Etheridge has released ten albums throughout her career, the most acclaimed (both critically and commercially) were "Yes I Am" in 1993 and "Your Little Secret" in 1995. The first included massive hits "Im the Only One" and "Come to My Window," as well as "If I Wanted To." The latter featured "I Want to Come Over" and "The War is Over."

Etheridges biggest moments as of late was the 2005 Grammy Awards. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, she returned to the stage with a bald head, performing a Janis Joplin tribute with Joss Stone. Since overcoming breast cancer, Etheridge has become vocal for the cause, including recording the song "I Run for Life," which references her fight.

Keeping with her activist theme, the star has performed for a number of causes, including ReAct Now: Music & Relief, Live Earth and the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2007. She also recorded "I Need to Wake Up" for the film "AN Inconvenient Truth." That album took home an Academy Award in 2007.
