Grammy award winners Maxwell and Jill Scott are co-headling a summer arena tour starting in Cleveland on May 21st and ending in NYC at Madison Square Garden, with several stops in between. It's one of the hottest events of the season!

Maxwell continues to support his acclaimed release "Blacksummers' Night," while Scott will be showcasing songs from her highly anticipated new album, "The Light Of The Sun," due out this summer. She also draws on more than ten years of R&B hits, which will surely please the fans.

Maxwell is enjoying a resurgent year of success after being off the music radar for more than seven years. His absence has only served to fuel his popularity, which was evident from the sellout crowds during the first leg of his tour.

The addition of superwoman Jill Scott raises the bar! An award-winning singer in her own right, Scott also enjoys success as an actress and fashion designer. She is best known for her role on the HBO series "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency," and is currently set to release two movies later this year, as well as a intimate apparel line for women.

Maxwell took home his first two Grammy Awards last Sunday at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. In the past, he?s been nominated for a total of six awards.
His song "Pretty Wings" won for ?Best Male R&B Vocal Performance; and his album "Blacksummers? Night" won for ?Best R&B Album.?
He was also nominated for four other Grammy Awards: ?Song of the Year? went to "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by Beyonce; ?Best Male Pop Vocal Performance? went to Jason Mraz; ?Best Pop Instrumental Performance? went to Bela Fleck; and ?Best R&B Song? went to "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."
"To get Grammys, and to even be included in a community of musicians [like this], it's just such a blessing," Maxwell told MTV. "And then to have this wonderful legend, Roberta Flack, come walking out with this song, she's just amazing. I felt like I was suspended in animation. It was really surreal to me to be on that stage."

Maxwell can't hide from his Grammy nominations
Posted December 3, 2009 by michelle
Considering Maxwell has spent the last several years in relative obscurity, his comeback has certainly grabbed the attention of? a lot of people, most notably The Recording Academy's membership of music professionals who vote on the Grammys.
The 2010 Grammy Nominees were announced on Wednesday, and Maxwell was in awe to receive his handful of nominations, specifically in the following categories:
Song of the Year - "Pretty Wings"
Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Love You"
Best Pop Instrumental Performance for "Phoenix Rise"
Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Pretty Wings"
Best R&B Song - "Pretty Wings"
Best R&B Album - "Blacksummers' Night"
The AP reported his disbelief upon hearing the news stating, "This is very surreal for me. I'm not used to this. I've been throwing out my trash, buying milk, and living in basic obscurity.... I feel like I've already won."
That's a great attitude to have, and?he'll need all the positive vibes he can get.?Maxwell is going up against many music veterans in the various categories, including Beyonce, John Legend, Jason Mraz, India Arie and others.
The 52nd Grammy Awards airs on January 31, 2010, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, on CBS at 8pm (EST).
Maxwell kicks off first-ever arena tour
Posted September 26, 2009 by jordan
Maxwell has been rehearsing in Toronto for the past two weeks for his first-ever arena tour. All that hard work finally came to fruition when he took the stage with U2 last night at the Air Canada Centre. Prior to that, Maxwell met front man Bono when they shared a car mix-up at New York City?s Hit Factory.
"I got the call that he wanted to meet me. We had already met. We met in New York City one time. He thought one of my cars was his. He was trying to get into my car. I had a car, a Mercedes, outside, and he thought it was his car. It was the funniest thing because he remembered. He was like, ‘Yeah, I remember you. I was trying to get into your car.' I was going to give him the car. Take the car!" Maxwell said.
