News and Information
Matchbox Twenty has reunited after an extended hiatus and are back to making rock/pop classics - and women swoon.

Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Brian Yale and Paul Coucetter released "Yourself of Someone Like You" in 1996 after forming out of the band Tabithas Secret in Orlando, Fla. Their debut album was a smash, charting the successful singles "Push," "3 a.m.," Real World" and "Back to Good." The album eventually sold over 12 million albums in the U.S. alone.

In 2000, "Mad Season" was released, and included the hit singles "Bent" and "If Youre Gone." Around this time, frontman Thomas expressed interest in a solo career, performing on the single "Smooth" off of guitar legend Santanas "Supernatural" album.

The band then released "More Than You Think You Are," which was more rock-oriented than their other efforts. Singles from the album included "Disease," "Unwell" and "Bright Lights." The album sold over 2 million copies.

In 2004 the inevitable occurred - the group took a break for Thomas to focus on a solo career, which was quite successful. "?Something to Be" was a smash hit, including the hits "Lonely No More," "This is How a Heart Breaks," "Ever the Same" and "Streetcorner Symphony." While the band wasnt together, Thomas created music very close to the sound of the band, so it almost seemed as though they were still together.

In 2007, the band released "Exile on the Mainstream," which included 11 greatest hits and six new songs. To support the album, the group is touring with Alanis Morissette during the winter and Spring of 2008 and will release a new studio album in 2009.
