Martina McBride News and Information Martina McBride is an angel of the country industry, constantly offering up spunky country anthems about love and the joys of life.

McBride broke onto the country scene in 1993 with the album "The Way That I Am," which featured the hit single "My Baby Loves Me." In her beginnings, she was comparable to a more honky-tonk version of Faith Hill. She followed up her hits album with a more mainstream-oriented duet with Jim Brickman, "Valentine," off of the album "Evolution."

By 2000, McBride had a number of country hits under her belt, including "Concrete Angel," "Independence Day," "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden" and "In My Daughters Eyes." Many music insiders have referred to her as the "Celine Dion of Country Music."

In 2005, McBride released "Timeless," a collection of country classics. The album was critically acclaimed, and she set out on the massive Timeless 2006 tour. In 2007, McBride put out "Waking Up Laughing," which sold very well and was a hit with music critics. The country diva toured with Rodney Atkins and Little Big Town to support the effort.
