Marc Anthony is traveling this fall for a limited number of dates, including a show in Miami, Fla., in late October and a few stops in California through November.
The singer is still traveling behind the
El Cantante soundtrack, released in 2007. Anthony and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, starred in the biopic of salsa icon Hector Lavoe.
Anthony is known as the biggest-selling salsa music artist of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, and he was the first solo act to ever sell out Madison Square Garden.
Born in New York City, the salsa sensation began as a member of the underground New York house music acts. After about five years on the scene, he became more interested in salsa and other Spanish music.
Anthony released his debut Spanish-language album "Otra Nota" in 1993, which included the hit "Hasta que te conoci" (Until I met you). He released a bevy of other Spanish-language albums, solidifying his spot at the top of the Salsa charts.
In 1999, Marc Anthony released his self-titled English-language debut, which included the hits "I Need to Know," "When I Dream at Night," "My Baby You," and "You Sang to Me." He shifted back and forth over the following years, including "Libre" in 2001, "Mended" in 2002, "Amar SinMentiras" and "Valio la Pena" in 2004, and "Sigo Siendo Yo" in 2006.
In the first half of the decade, Anthony's acting career began to heat up - he has scored roles in "Big Night," "Bringing Out the Dead," "Man on Fire" and the lead role in "El Cantante."
