It's the happiest time of the year again, and that can mean just one thing: Mannheim Steamroller is gearing up for their annual Christmas tour.
"The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller by Chip Davis" kicks off on Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 30. The band will split up and perform nearly twice a day at different places throughout the U.S.
The tour, now in its 26th year, will hit 30 U.S. states this holiday season. The west coast tour kicks off on Nov. 10 at the Civic Center in Peoria, Ill., and wraps up on Dec. 19 at the Atwood Concert Hall in Alaska. The east coast tour also begins on Nov. 10 at the Bank of Kentucky in Highland Heights, but ends on Dec. 30 at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Combined, there will be about 90 Mannheim Steamroller tour dates this season.
The group just released their 12th Christmas studio album, dubbed Christmas Symphony, in October 2011. However, the group didn't get their start in Christmas music. By the time they released their first Christmas album they had already released several albums, which has come to be known as the Fresh Aire series. The first album debuted in 1975 and the last, "Fresh Aire 8" was released in 2000.
They also have a slew of ambience albums and other albums, like "Romantic Melodies" (2002) and "Huskers Musik" (1997).
