Miguel is one of the most popular Latin American singers since the early 1980s, commonly referred to as El Sol de Mexico. He has sold more than 90 million albums in his 25-year career.

The son of late Spanish singer Luisito Rey and actress Marcela Basteri, Miguel grew up in Mexico and began performing at a very early age. He grew up with sounds of Elvis Presley and released his first album at the age of 11. He toured Latin America and became a world-wide name.

In 1987 the singer signed with Warner Records and released "Un Hombre Busca Una Mujer" the following year. The album broke almost every record in the Latin American books. While Miguel was still considered a child star, he transitioned with "20 Anos" in 1990, and embarked on a massive string of sold-out concert stops.

In 1991, "Romance" was released, which eventually became the best-selling Spanish-language album of all time and the first album to sell over one million copies in the U.S. by a man.

The artist released hit after hit through Complices, which was certified Diamond, eight times Platinum and one time Gold. Over the years he has also scored a slew of awards, including five Grammy Awards, four Latin Grammy Awards, four World Music Awards and 13 Billboard Awards, among many others.
