Louis C.K. is on his stand up comedy tour, which takes him throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Born Louis Szekely, Louis C.K. is an Emmy Award-winning writer, actor, director, producer and comedian. His writing has been used on such shows as The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan OBrien, The Dana Carvey Show, Saturday Night Live, and The Chris Rock Show. Writing for The Chris Rock Show won him an Emmy in 1999 for "Best Writing in a Variety or Comedy Series."
In June 2006, he created a sitcom called Lucky Louie, which premiered on HBO. The show was filmed in front of a live audience, which was the first time that type of format had been used at HBO. After just one season, Lucky Louie was cancelled; however, his acting career is far from over. This year alone he has starred in "Diminished Capacity" and "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins." He is also linked with "This Side of the Truth," a comedy that is currently in production.
C.K. has written and directed a number of short films including "Caesars Salad," "Ice Cream," and "The Legend of Willie Brown." In 1998, C.K. wrote and directed Tomorrow Night, a comedy that was nominated by the Florida Film Festival and the Hamptons International Film Festival.
C.K. has also been doing stand-up comedy (successfully) since 1989. This year, C.K. concluded his tour with a special video of all new material just one year after the first one, "Louis CK: Chewed UP," which airs later this year.
